1. What are some of the previous research projects you have done?

2. Based on these projects, what does research mean to you?
~ Well, for one thing, without research I probably would have gotten a really bad grade on al these projects. Also, research may not be the funnest stage of a project but after learning so much it makes you feel smarter and your project more presentable too.
3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?
~ One of my research failures was the science box in 6th grade. We made a box describig a famous scientists inventions and i didn't get a very good grade on it. I rushed through the project and it looked as if I had just thrown it together which I am sad to say "I did." So you may think that it turned out a negative experience but it didn't because I simply pulled all the items out of the box and used them for my antique dollhouse. Entry 2 - 4/7/08

1. I think the webbing process helped/did not help me find a topic because:

1. Topic: Why did literature flourish in the golden age of Islam and what famous peices still excist in our time?
2. Why you chose it: I like to read so possibly reading something from this time will help me grasp all the important concepts of this time.
3. What you already know about your topic: I know that literature flourished and some names of "authors" of that time. Entry 4 - 4/8/08
4 - Pre-Notetaking Activity - in class (due Wednesday, April 9)
1. Brainstorm a list of questions related to your topic.

-What were some famous writings?
-What did they write about and why?
-Do we still have the same writing concepts they had?
-How did famous writings get to others? (librarys, newspaper, stores)
-Were they considered famous or important? (the writings) If so why?

-Are authors of today inspired by "authors" of the golden age of Islam?
-Are there writings still studied by students today?

1. Describe how the pre-notetaking sheet helped you find both focus for your topic and research questions to investigate. Did you find it easy or difficult to create a fat question from your ideas?
a. I don't think I got a pre-notetaking sheet since I don't know what that is.
b. I found it exceedingly easy to create "fat" questions. Entry 6 - 4/9/08

a. ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a. Seeing it is only the first day of our research I am happy to say I haven't had any probles so far.

a. If I come to any problems I will either ask for help or I will rephrase some search topics that are similar enough to answer a question that is giving me trouble.

a. That using a book as a source is really easy

a. I'm not finding alot of other sources for my research

a. Well, I actually finished answering all of my skinny question and I began my inspiration thing. So I guess I will just continue.
